   STUDENT PROJECT CELL (SPC)


Guidelines:

a.       SPC Regulations are applicable to all the student and staff members of Techno International – Batanagar (henceforth referred as institute).

b.       Unless otherwise mentioned explicitly, the term ‘supervisor’ relates to any faculty of the institute who acts as the mentor/guide of a student project group.

c.       Unless otherwise mentioned explicitly, ‘national/state/district/city/inter-college/professional-chapter project competitions/events’ are to be considered as ‘event’ henceforth.

d.       Student Project Cell (SPC) being a sister unit of R&D Committee shall strictly comply with the R&D Regulations while taking necessary decision within the scope of the committee.

e.       Student Project Cell (SPC) members shall maintain high secrecy of the research/technical information and shall not get engaged in unauthorized communication of any official document or information passed on to them.

f.        Students being an integral constituent of the Student Project Cell (SPC) also need to maintain official decorum under the sole responsibility of the supervisor.

g.       Student Project Cell (SPC) Regulations shall be applicable to those project related activities of Techno International – Batanagar wherein students participate with peer groups in events.

 

Student Project Cell (SPC) Regulations:

SP1.        Project Recognition

Unless otherwise stated, student projects designed/developed for events fall under the Student Project Cell (SPC).

 

Projects are segregated into two categories:

SP1.1.             Projects specifically designed/developed for the attainment of academic scores under the aegis of university curricula.

SP1.2.             Projects specifically designed/developed for events other than attainment of academic scores under the aegis of university curricula.

 

·         Student Projects aligned to SP1.1 enjoy SPC Regulations on successful participation in events and duly accepted by the Principal/Competent Authority of Techno International – Batanagar.

·         Student Projects aligned to SP1.2 can be further established as projects for the attainment of academic scores under the aegis of university curricula after due discussions and acceptances from the HoD/Principal/Competent Authority of Techno International – Batanagar.

 

SP2.        Financial Assistance

SP2.1.             The institute (TIB) will provide financial assistance as a source of motivation for students and/or supervisors for participating in events in accordance to SP1.2. The financial assistances in such cases attract the registration cost of the project, TA and Accommodation for the students and/or the supervisors. Amount for TA and Accommodation shall be decided by the Principal/Competent Authority of Techno International – Batanagar.

SP2.2.             In cases where a student project gets published in accordance to RD1, circular number TIB/CIRCULAR/2017/05(A) will get recognized in accordance to RD2.1 and RD2.2, circular number TIB/CIRCULAR/2017/05(A). In view of student motivation, the ceiling mentioned in RD2 can be relaxed to extent decided by the Principal/Competent Authority of Techno International – Batanagar on merit basis.

SP2.3.             The financial assistance for projects related to SP1.2 attract further assistance for purchase of project materials as decided by the Principal/Competent Authority of Techno International – Batanagar after duly forwarded by the supervisor in cognizance of the HoD of the specific department within which the project group lies.

SP2.4.             In lieu of SP2.3, cases involving interdisciplinary projects related to SP1.2, the financial assistance will be decided by the Principal/Competent Authority of Techno International – Batanagar after discussions with the SPC/R&D members, inter-disciplinary supervisors and the HoDs.
